As of early August, we are testing the new Online Payment Signup and are looking forward to going live with Stripe, our new Payment Partner, very soon. For more information about this transition, click here.
FAQ
1. As a Secretary, what should I expect in the WePay to Stripe Transition?
Phase One:
Onboarding Stripe Merchant Accounts: Once Stripe Onboarding testing is complete, Groupable will email Stripe Onboarding instructions to all WePay Merchant Account Admins.
WePay transactions will continue uninterrupted until September 30, 2024, or until your member portal moves from OLP to groupable|connect.
Phase Two:
Accepting Stripe Online Payments: When your member portal moves from OLP to groupable|connect, all groupable payments will be processed with Stripe. Please onboard with Stripe prior to this transfer to ensure that your members can continue making online payments.
2. What is the deadline to Onboard with Stripe?
WePay transactions can be processed until September 30, 2024, while Groupable completes Stripe testing. As soon as we're through testing, we'll send an email with Stripe Onboarding instructions.
3. I currently have a WePay Merchant Account. What is my next step in continuing to accept online payments?
Thanks for your patience as WePay closes and we roll out our new payment system. You don't need to do anything yet, as we are currently in the final testing stages with Stripe to ensure a smooth signup. The last day to process WePay transactions is September 30, 2024.
We will notify you by email when it's time to set up your new Merchant Account.
Once you've onboarded with Stripe in groupable|m2, you can still process WePay transactions until September 30, 2024, or your member portal moves from OLP to groupable|connect, whichever happens first.
4. I have members who have made partial payments with AutoPay, and they still owe dues. How will I collect those payments?
Based on feedback and user experience, AutoPay will be discontinued until modifications and enhancements are made.
After setting up the new Merchant Account and the new Member Portal (groupable|connect) goes live, the secretary will be prompted to send an email requesting partial or full dues payment for any members who owe dues, including anyone signed up for an AutoPay installment plan.
5. I am sending out my dues notices. Should I include the "pay online" link on the dues notice this year?
Yes, you can include the "pay online" link for your members dues notices. When your member goes to that link, even after the WePay-Stripe transition and OLP services have been moved to groupable|connect, your member will be shown a transition screen with instructions to log in to groupable|connect where they can pay online via Stripe.
6. We don't know who the Admin for the WePay Merchant Account is. Will this affect our ability to set up with Stripe?
No, the WePay Merchant Account Admin and the new Stripe Admin do not have to be the same person. These two accounts are separate and distinct Merchant Accounts that do not talk to each other. The current Secretary and/or Assistant Secretaries have permissions to onboard with Stripe.
