Instructions to Invite Additional Teams Member to Your Stripe Account
If you wish to invite any other officers to access the Stripe Merchant Account, log into your Stripe Merchant account and navigate to:
- Settings
- Team and Security
- + New Member

Your new member will receive an email inviting them to create their Stripe Merchant Account.
Instructions to Transfer Ownership of a Stripe Account:
When you have a new secretary, you'll want to pass the account to the new administrator. To kick this off, the current Stripe Admin will need to connect you to the existing account.

How to transfer account ownership
To an existing Stripe Team Member:
- Go to your Team settings on the Dashboard.
- Locate the user you want to make the new account owner and click the overflow menu.
- The next steps depend on whether the user is already a Super Administrator or Administrator.
- If they are: From the popup, choose the option to Transfer ownership to this user. If they are an Administrator of the account, they become a Super Administrator after the ownership transfer.
- If they are not:
- Set their role to Super Administrator and click Save.
- Click the overflow menu again for the same user and from the popup, select Transfer ownership and follow the instructions.
To a new individual (Invite someone new to your Stripe Team):
- Go to Team settings on the Dashboard .
- Click +New Member.
- Add the new user’s email address and set their role to Super Administrator.
- Click Save to send them an invitation to join the account.
- After the new user has accepted the invite, go back to Team settings.
- Click the overflow menu next to their name.
- From the popup, select Transfer ownership and follow the instructions.
Please note that, as the business representative/account owner for your organization, Stripe may ask that you provide information:
- Identity Confirmation:
- Images of your photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc)
- Full name, address, other identifying information
- Last 4 of your SSN
This helps Stripe prevent the creation of fraudulent accounts.
FAQ: Help! The Prior Stripe Admin can't Transfer Stripe Ownership!
When the past Secretary/Stripe Admin is no longer available (whether due to death, illness, or simply no contact), Groupable can assist by "unlinking" the current Stripe Account and allowing the new Secretary to create a brand new Stripe Account for the local.
