The Advanced Audience Builder can be accessed by selecting Menu > Members > Search from the menu, or from the Overview Shortcuts Panel Advanced Search / Email / Labels / Exports or Build Audience
Access
This section is open to anyone logged into groupable|m2 in any of the following roles: lodgeSecretary, lodgeAssistantSecretary, Region, District, Group Read/Only and Read/Write.
- In a local role/permission, your results will be scoped to your local members.
- In a district or region role/permission, your results will be scoped to your district or region.
- And, most broad, in a grand body role/permission, your results will include all records in the entire grand body.
Instructions/Scribe/Video
This screen is used to produce emails, labels / envelopes, and member reports based on your user role permissions (local group, district, region, parent group).
The production of these is done in two stages.
- In the first stage, you use the various criteria available to build an "Audience". As you search and produce Results, you can immediately move to the second stage and work with the Results, or convert these Results to an Audience with Create Audience, reset your Search and then select different criteria which you thereby Add to Audience before moving to the second stage and producing a single output.
- The second stage involves the actual production of the reports and/or labels using your Results or your Audience (adding multiple Results together). This is done by selecting Email, Labels and Envelopes, Create Report, Mail Merge Export, or Export.

Field Descriptions
Find Members
Saved Searches
- Saved Searches - Your personal saved search criteria, as well as any saved searches shared by Group Users. When you are a local or district user, any use of any Saved Searches will by default scope directly to your own scope (to your local, instead of another local, district, region, or broad group), excluding any results outside of your local group.
Member Info
- Last name, First name, Member number - text fields
- Group Status - multi-select list for all Group Statuses for members in your group. When Group Status is left blank (screen default), the results will include ALL Group Statuses.
- Local Status - multi-select list for all Local Statues for members in your group. When Local Status is left blank (screen default), the results will include ALL Local Statuses.
- Member Type - multi-select list for all Member Types in your organization from Contacts or Widows to Full Members, Honorary Members, and everything in-between (candidates and those who have proceeded through one or more degrees who are not yet a full member).
- Exempt From Dues - Narrows Results to those full members who are exempt from dues (Member Info; managed by Parent Group Users)
- Endowed - Member has an Endowment
- Members - multi-select list of every local members and others (LOCAL USERS ONLY)
- Active Members (Alphabetical by last name)
- Inactive Members (Alphabetical by last name, inactive local status in parentheses)
- Others (Deceased & Widows & Contacts, alphabetical by last name)
Local Information
Local Users Only:
- Local Dues Type (set by local; Dues Rates)
- Mailing List (set by local; configure at Menu > Mailing > Mailing Lists)
Postal Filters
- States - multi-select list of all States listed
- Postal Areas - multi-select list of all first 3 digits of US Zip Codes
- Zip Codes - enter one or more zip codes, separated with spaces
- Foreign Countries - multi-select list of all foreign countries included in the database
Birth Date / Age
- Birth Day From - enter birth date in MM/YY/DDDD format as the starting date of a range. When left blank, will include all birthdates up to the ending date range.
- Birth Day To - enter birth date in MM/YY/DDDD format as the ENDING date of a range. When left blank, will include all birthdates from the starting date range.
- Birth Month - multi-select list of all twelve months of the year.
- Age From - enter a whole number in numerical format "1" . When left blank, will include the youngest ages up to the selected "Age To".
- Age To - enter a whole number in numerical format "1" . When left blank, will include all ages from the selected "Age From".
Years In Good Standing
- Years in Good Standing Min - enter a whole number in numerical format "1"
- Years in Good Standing Max - enter a whole number in numerical format "1"
Life-Cycle Events
- Events - multi-select of all possible member and other events that may be present on a member timeline. "OR" function: any event selected is a match (fix deployed 12/15/25)
- Within - in the past x years (1 through 20 years)
- From Date - enter date in MM/YY/DDDD format as the starting date of a range. When left blank, will include all event dates up to the ending date range.
- To Date - enter date in MM/YY/DDDD format as the ENDING date of a range. When left blank, will include all event dates from the starting date range.
- Missing Events - multi-select of all possible member and other events that may be present on a member timeline. Selection of a Missing Event means this event is NOT present on a member timeline. Use of the multi-select will require ALL selected events to be absent from the timelines.
Note: when using "Events PLUS Missing Events," your results will be scoped to ALL SELECTED EVENTS PRESENT AND ALL SELECTED MISSING EVENTS ABSENT.
If you'd like results of "Events Present OR Missing Events Absent", create one search, then Create Audience, reset Find Member and create the second search, then Add to Audience.
If you'd like the Results for "Event 1 OR Event 2", create one search, then Create Audience, reset Find Member and create the second search, then Add to Audience.
Region / District / Local
In Group Role/Permissions:
- Region - multi-select list of all Regions in the Group
- District - multi-select list of all Districts in the Group
- Local - multi-select list of all Locals in the Group
In Region Role/Permissions:
- District - multi-select list of all Districts in the Region
- Local - multi-select list of all Locals in the Region
In District Role/Permissions:
- Local - multi-select list of all Locals in the District
In Local Role/Permissions:
- Local - Name of Your Local
Group Committees
- Group Committees - names of all Committees in your Parent Group
- Group Role/Permissions - members who currently are a Committee Member in Group
- Region Role/Permissions - members who currently are a Committee Member and belong in your Region
- District Role/Permissions - members who currently are a Committee Member and belong in your District
- Local Role/Permissions - members who currently are a Committee Member and belong in your Local
Office Holders
Search for members who currently hold one or more system-managed offices. Selecting more than one office = results narrowed to members who currently hold all offices.
- Multi-select list of all Offices listed in sort order (from top to bottom: Jurisdiction, Region, District, Local Offices)
- Scope of Results:
- Group Role/Permissions - members who currently hold the office across the whole jurisdiction
- Region Role/Permissions - members who currently hold the office anywhere in the jurisdiction and who belong to your Region
- District Role/Permissions - members who currently hold the office anywhere in the jurisdiction and who belong to your District
- Local Role/Permissions - members who currently hold the office anywhere in the jurisdiction and belong to your Local
- Local Only: "In My Local" - members who currently hold the office in your local
- You can modify these results by narrowing your Search with other Search Criteria (Region, District, Local; Birth Date / Age; etc.
Past Office Holders
Search for members who have one or more Past Offices Held on their member record. Selecting more than one office = results narrowed to members who have all Past Offices Held on their member record.
- Multi-Select list of all Offices listed in sort order (from top to bottom: Jurisdiction, Region, District, Local Offices)
- From Date - enter date in MM/YY/DDDD format as the starting date of a range. When left blank, will include all office held dates up to the ending date range.

- Group Role/Permissions - members who have all of the selected offices listed in their Past Offices Held on their member record and belong to the jurisdiction
- Region Role/Permissions - members who have all of the selected offices listed in their Past Offices Held on their member record and belong to your Region
- District Role/Permissions - members who have all of the selected offices listed in their Past Offices Held on their member record and belong to your District
- Local Role/Permissions - members who have all of the selected offices listed in their Past Offices Held on their member record and belong to your Local
- Local Only: Local - members who have all of the selected offices listed in their Past Offices Held and held the office in your local on their member record
- You can modify these results by narrowing your Search with other Search Criteria (Region, District, Local; Birth Date / Age; etc.
Geocode / Zip Search
- Zip Code / Postal Code - type zip or postal code
- Distance From Center - in miles - enter a whole number in numerical format ie: "1"
Member Certifications
- Any Certifications (only when your jurisdiction has Certifications)
Awards
- Award - select list
Subscriptions
- Subscription - select list
Notes
- Note - type characters to search member notes for results
Bulk Member Numbers
- Bulk GL Numbers - type or copy and paste member numbers including any letter prefixes and leading zeroes. One member number per line, maximum 5000 numbers

- Any Custom Properties and Fields - type or multi-select for results
Preview
- Preview of Audience (up to 500) - Display a preview of search results up to 500, and outlines your current search criteria
- Name (full name, alphabetical by last name)
- Locals (name and number of local affiliations)
- Group Status (group status of member)
- Group Member Type (Highest weighted member type based on search criteria)
- Number (Member Number)
Actions
When you are ready, take action with your Results.
- Use the current Results to Email, produce Labels and/or Envelopes, Create Report, Mail Merge Export, or Export XLS.
- Create a larger Audience and Add to the Audience before Emailing, producing Labels and/or Envelopes, Create Report, Mail Merge Export, or Export XLS the entire Audience in one go (ensures no duplication of effort or duplicate emails/labels/rows).
Create Audience / Add to Audience
Use Create Audience / Add to Audience to collect several Results into one buffer before taking any of the following actions.
Total Audience:
- Unique individual count
Searches in Audience:
- Remove Subgroup from Audience
- Criteria for Subgroup Inclusion
- Count in Audience Subgroup
Note:
Some records may be counted in more than one Search in Audience Subgroup; Adding several search results into the Audience means that your Audience Outputs will not duplicate several emails, labels, envelopes, or export reports.
Exception:
When Exporting and selecting "Include Officer Dupes", output will include output for every office held the person has in the audience. For example, a person who is secretary in two locals will have two outputs.
View your Audience Count in the upper right corner of the app from any groupable|m2 screen.
Alternative ways to Add to Audience:
- Menu > Reports > Events Report - find Events and select Results > Add to Audience
- Officer History Report > Add to Audience
Clear your Audience with the trash can to the right of each Audience Subgroup
Compose email screen:
- Output Settings
- Exclude Members With No Solicitations: References Member's Communication Preference: "No Solicitations" - only emails members with "No Solicitations" = "No"
- Only Members With No Solicitations: References Member's Communication Preference: "No Solicitations" - only emails members with "No Solicitations" = "Yes"
- Transactional Communication: Only use for communications that are of a legal or transactional nature, such as receipts, or notifications of membership status. This will produce output for all members regardless of their preferences. Abusing this is a violation of the service agreement.

- Valid Email Addresses - list of names who meet the Audience Criteria (alphabetical by last name) with a valid email address
- Invalid Email Addresses - list of names who meet the Audience Criteria (alphabetical by last name) with an invalid email address or no email address

Notes:

- Foreign records with no affiliation in your grand body (based on their member timeline) will not be included in the Find Members. Please look them up in their Foreign / Related Group Member List.
- Do NOT directly export your "RESULTS" with the "Copy, Excel, CSV, PDF, Print" buttons. This will only export the limited amount of data in the Results Table (Name, Locals, Group Status, Group Member Type, Number) for up to 500 Results. Use the Email, Labels and Envelopes, Create Report, Mail Merge Export, and Export functions instead.
