Ensure your new contacts become Full Members

After creating a new contact, you may wonder what you need to do to add this person to your Member list.
Every record starts as a Contact. Then, by adding timeline events, you change their status and make them a member by walking through their degrees or initiations.
Your Parent Group may also enter events such as "Cleared" or "Background Check" on a timeline before their degrees or initiations are allowed to be entered. Please contact your Parent Group if you have any questions.

Notes:
- If a member is in "Contact Limbo", please check that their timeline has no highlighted errors, and that they have their initiations or degrees on their record.
- Your jurisdiction may require Background Checks, Clearance at the Parent Group, or other steps performed by the Parent Group before a secretary can enter degrees on a candidate's record.
