As of October 16, many of Our Lodge Pages (OLP) have migrated to Groupable's new Member Portal, groupable|connect.
We are so excited to share groupable|connect with the Fraternal community. We hate seeing many groups stuck in a hamster wheel of administrative tasks, struggling to retain their members, and, more importantly, communicating their message, often leading to them struggling to deliver the amazing value that the world really needs. Know anyone like that?
We’re on a mission to help organizations realize they really can have the impact that they want to have, just not by raising more dollars or getting more members – at least not at first – but instead focusing on three hugely impactful but often-neglected steps.
But, let me step back and share a story. When James called us, he was at his wit's end, buried in a mountain of paperwork on nights and weekends. He didn't even know who his current members were, much less have current contact information for them. James was worried they were losing members and letting them down, which made him feel guilty and exhausted. On our very first call, I helped James see - more members weren't the answer. One more member would have likely given him a heart attack at that stage, plus they weren't keeping the members they already had. Instead, I suggested they implement a single source of truth, then delegate data entry to the local officers, and bring all communications inside that single source of truth to share their mission with the world and the fraternal community. Taking these three steps would allow him to eliminate the piles of paperwork, freeing his nights and weekends for the events that mattered, guilt-free.
While originally, James was apprehensive about this, as he was already overwhelmed with the sheer amount of work he had to do, I helped him see this was a small step back that would allow him to catapult forward. And, without it, well, let’s be honest, he would still be pulling his hair out for years to come, and worse, not be living up to the organization’s full potential.
Today, they’ve eliminated those piles of paperwork. James has more time with his wife, more time to travel in his leadership role meeting with members and attending events, and become even more effective at meeting the mission of the fraternity. And it doesn’t stop with him. Members and officers get to log in to that single source of truth to RSVP to calendar events, read news/blog posts, eliminating the email, postal, and calendar chaos.
