Manual for
The Stripe Accounts list: every local on the site that has started a Stripe merchant account through Groupable, and where each one stands.
Navigation / Location:
Admin > Stripe Accounts at the Grand Body level, for example https://enterprisedemo.groupable.app/admin/stripe_accounts.
The menu item appears only on sites where Stripe payments are turned on.
Access / Permissions:
- Only Admins (Group users) see this screen and can open each account's details.
- Lodge secretaries do not see it. A secretary sees their own lodge's Charges enabled and Payouts enabled on the lodge's Local Group Overview page.
- Only Groupable staff (super users) see the Delete button.
What the screen shows
One row per local that has clicked Set up payments on its Local Group Overview page and been sent to Stripe. A local that never started does not appear. Today only locals have Stripe accounts; districts, regions and the Grand Body do not.
Field Descriptions:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Actions | The expand icon opens the account's details. The trash icon (Groupable staff only) deletes the row. |
| Owner | The local the account belongs to. Click it to open the local. |
| Status | Where the local is in Stripe signup. See the table below. |
| Charges enabled | Yes: Stripe lets this local take card payments, so members can pay this local online. No: online payment to this local is off. |
| Payouts enabled | Yes: Stripe sends the money it collects to the local's bank account. No: money can be collected but is held by Stripe until this turns on. |
| Stripe identifier | Stripe's ID for the account (starts acct_). Use it when you contact Stripe or look the account up in the Stripe dashboard. |
| Created at | When the local started signup. |
| Updated at | When Groupable last checked the account with Stripe. |
Status values
| Status | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| NEW | The local started but never finished the Stripe form. | The secretary goes back to the Local Group Overview page and clicks Finish Stripe setup. |
| PENDING | The form is submitted. Stripe is still reviewing, or is waiting on more information, and has turned on neither charges nor payouts. | Wait a few days. If it stays here, the secretary logs into Stripe and answers what Stripe asked for (often a tax ID or bank detail). |
| PARTIALLY_ACTIVE | The form is submitted and one of the two (charges or payouts) is on, the other is not. | Usually payouts are waiting on the bank account. The secretary checks Stripe for an open request. |
| ACTIVE | Charges and payouts are both on. The local can take online payments and receive the money. | Nothing. |
| COMPLETE | The local finished signup and both were on at that moment. Means the same as ACTIVE; the row has not been rechecked since. | Nothing. Open the details to recheck. |
Important: the list is a snapshot
The Status, Charges enabled and Payouts enabled columns are what Groupable last recorded. They are not live. Groupable rechecks an account with Stripe only when:
- someone opens that account's details (the expand icon) on this screen;
- the local's secretary returns from the Stripe form; or
- the local's secretary opens the Local Group Overview page while the account is still waiting on Stripe.
So a row can show No after Stripe has turned the account on, or Yes after Stripe has paused it. Before you tell a local anything about its account, open the details. That rechecks the account and saves the new answer to the row; reload the list to see it.
The details window
The expand icon opens Live data from Stripe: the full record Stripe holds for the account, fetched at that moment. It is technical. The parts worth reading:
| Field in the details | What it tells you |
|---|---|
business_profile.name |
The name the local signed up under. |
email |
The email Stripe has for the account. |
details_submitted |
true once the form was finished. |
charges_enabled, payouts_enabled
|
The live answers for the two Yes/No columns. |
requirements.currently_due |
What Stripe still needs right now. Empty means nothing. |
requirements.past_due |
What Stripe needed and did not get. Anything here is why charges or payouts are off. |
requirements.disabled_reason |
Stripe's reason the account is restricted, if it is. |
external_accounts |
The bank account payouts go to (last four digits only). |
Delete (Groupable staff only)
Delete removes the row from Groupable only. It does not close the account at Stripe. After a delete the local looks like it never started, and the next Set up payments click creates a second Stripe account. When a lodge merges or closes and its account should go, contact Groupable Support: we check the Stripe balance first, so no money is left behind, then remove it.
Notes:
- Charges enabled is the switch that matters for members: if it is No, members cannot pay that local online.

- Business tax ID problems are the most common reason an account stalls: Stripe Accounts: Business Tax ID Requirements.
