This guide helps you move around Connect: the menus, your My Feed page, and the search box for finding a group or another member. It also covers changing the language.

Use the menus
Connect's menus change with the size of your screen. On a phone held upright, you get a grid of tiles. On a tablet or computer, you get a list down the left side.
At the top of every page you also have:
- On a computer or tablet, a house icon and the groupable | connect logo take you to your My Feed page. On a phone, open the menu and tap My Feed under My links.
- A search box. See Find a group.
- A globe icon for changing the language. See Change the language.
On a phone
-
Tap the menu icon (three short lines) at the top left.
-
Tap a tile to go to that page.
The grid has up to three parts:
- The group you are looking at. Its heading is the group's name. The tiles are Home, News, Calendar, Photos, Files, Officers, Past Officers, any pages the group added, and Contact Us.
- My Groups. The groups you belong to or follow. A group's picture shows on its tile when it has one.
- My links. My Feed, My Calendar, My Profile, Directory and Log Out.
The group part appears only when you are on a group's page. On pages such as My Feed, you see only My Groups and My links.
You might also see an Install App tile. To learn what it does, see Get Started with Connect.
On a tablet or computer
On a computer, the menu is always on the left. On a tablet, tap the menu icon at the top left to open it. It lists:
- The group you are looking at, with its pages: Home, News, Calendar, Photos, Files, Officers, Past Officers, any pages the group added, and Contact Us.
- My Feed, My Calendar, My Profile and My Requests. To learn about My Requests, see Contact Your Lodge or Group.
- My Groups. The groups you belong to or follow, with local groups (the chapters, councils or other units where you hold your membership) first.
- Directory. See Find a group.
On a computer or large tablet, two more helpers appear:
- Tabs across the top of a group's page. They match the group's pages in the menu.
- A trail of names under the top bar, called breadcrumbs, that shows where you are. Click a name to go back up to that page.
Click your name at the top right to open a short menu with My Profile, My Requests and Log Out.
If you don't see this
If My Feed, My Calendar or My Profile is missing, your login may not be linked to your membership. Ask your secretary.
Read your My Feed page
My Feed is your own page in Connect. After you log in as a member, Connect opens it. It gathers news and a few quick facts from the groups you follow. You follow your own local group automatically. To follow other groups or change this, see Choose What Connect Sends You.
To open it:
- On a phone, tap the menu icon, then tap My Feed under My links. On a tablet or computer, click My Feed in the left menu.
The page has these parts:
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Recent News | The newest news posts from the groups you follow, up to 10, from the past year. If there are none, you see No Recent News. |
| Dues Owed | Your local group and your dues. If your local group takes online payments, a Make A Payment button appears. See Pay Your Dues or Make a Donation. |
| Share Member Status | A square code that a phone camera can read, if your member number is on file. See Show Your Membership. |
| Upcoming Events | The groups you follow that have upcoming events, with how many each has. Tap one to open that group's page. |
| My Local Memberships | The local groups where you are a current member. Tap one to open its page. |
| My Groups | The groups you belong to. Tap one to open its page. |
On a phone, the cards come first and the news follows below them. To see upcoming events from the groups you follow, open My Calendar. See Events: See, RSVP, and Pay.
To read a post in full, tap its title or Read More. See Use Your Group's Page.
If you don't see this
Which cards appear depends on your membership and your local group's settings. If a card you expect is missing, ask your secretary.
Find a group
You can find a local group, district (a set of local groups), region (a set of districts) or parent group (the organization above them all) with the search box, or with the Directory.
Search
-
Tap or click the search box at the top of the page. It says Find a group or Find a group or member.
-
Type at least two letters. Type the start of a name, a city, or a number. A list opens under the box.
-
Under Groups, tap the group you want. Each result also shows what kind of group it is, and a small Member or Following label if that applies to you.
If many groups match, you see More beside the Groups heading. Type more letters to narrow the list. If nothing matches, you see No results.
Use the Directory
The Directory lists the local groups in your organization.
- On a phone, tap the menu icon, then tap Directory under My links. On a tablet or computer, click Directory in the left menu.
- Type any part of a name, a number or a city in the search box above the list. The list has the columns Name, Number and City.
- Tap a local group's name to open its page.
You can also tap See all in Directory at the bottom of the search results. It opens the Directory with what you typed already filled in.
If you don't see this
- Visitors who aren't logged in can search for groups but can't open the Directory.
- A local group appears only when your organization has set it up in Connect. If yours is missing, ask your secretary.
Find another member
You can look up other members by name, if your organization allows it.
- Tap or click the search box at the top of the page. If it says Find a group or member, member search is on for you.
- Type at least three letters of the member's name. With only two letters, the list says Keep typing to see members.
- Under Members, tap the member's name.
Each result shows the member's name and their local groups. The member's page shows:
- Their name and picture, if they chose to share the picture.
- Their Preferred Name, if they have one.
- Local Memberships, with the Local and the Member Type.
- Current Offices, if they hold any.
- Contact Info: only what they chose to share with other members in Connect. If they shared nothing, you see "This member has not shared contact details."
You find only members who switched on Show My Name under In Connect. By default you find members of your own local groups. Some organizations let you find members of any local group.
If you don't see this
If the search box says only Find a group, member search is off for you. Your organization decides who can use it. Ask your secretary.
Change the language
- Tap or click the globe icon in the top bar.
- Choose a language from the list: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese or Japanese.
The page reloads in that language. If you are logged in, Connect remembers your choice. Text your group wrote, such as a news post, stays as the group wrote it.
