This article helps you open Connect, log in and out, and put Connect on your phone's home screen. It also covers what to do if you belong to more than one local group (the individual unit within your organization, such as a chapter or local committee) or more than one organization.

What Connect is
Connect is your organization's own website for its members. You can read news, see events, look at photos and files, see who the officers are, and look at your own profile. Depending on your organization and your local group, you can also RSVP to events and pay dues online.
Each organization has its own Connect, with its own address and its own accounts. A username and password from one organization don't work on another organization's Connect.
Your organization gives you the address of its Connect. The welcome email you got when you made your account shows it, and so does a password reset email. Click the address in the email, then bookmark the page so you can find it again.
To find your way around once you're in, see Find Your Way Around Connect.
Browse as a guest
You don't need an account to look around. This works when your organization uses Connect.
- Open your organization's address. When you aren't logged in, Connect opens your organization's main page.
- If you see the login screen instead, tap Continue as Guest.
- To move around, tap the menu icon (three short lines) at the top left of the page, then tap the page you want. On a computer, use the menu on the left side of the page. If you don't see it, click the menu icon at the top left.
A guest sees the items your organization has marked Public. Some pages show more once you log in. The Officers page, for example, says Login to see more. under the list.
A guest can't open My Feed, My Calendar, My Profile, Directory or other members' pages. For what Public, Logged In Users and Your Group Only mean, see Use Your Group's Page.
If you don't see this
If the login screen has no Continue as Guest button, your organization may not use Connect. Ask your local group's secretary.
Log in and log out
To log in, you need an account. If you haven't made one, start with Create Your Groupable Account. For your first time logging in, see Log In for the First Time.
-
Open your organization's address.
-
If you land on a Connect page instead of the login screen, tap the person icon at the top right. On a computer, click sign in / create account at the top right.
-
Type your username in the Username box.
-
Type your password in the Password box. To check what you typed, tap the eye button at the right end of the box.
-
Tap Log In.
Connect opens My Feed, a page headed Recent News. This is your starting page. A "Session expired. Please log in again to continue." message means Connect logged you out. Log in again.
Log out
On a phone:
-
Tap the menu icon (three short lines) at the top left.
-
Under My links, tap Log Out.
On a computer or tablet:
-
Click your name at the top right of the page. If you see a person icon instead of your name, click that.
-
Click Log Out.
On a computer you share with others, always log out when you finish.
What Access denied means
If the login screen says Access denied, Groupable doesn't show you as an active member. Connect checks this before it checks your password, so the message doesn't mean you typed your password wrong. Resetting your password doesn't change it.
Ask your local group's secretary to check your membership status. For other messages on the login screen, see Reset Your Password When You Can't Log In.
Change your password
Connect has no screen for changing your password while you're logged in. It also has no screen for changing your username.
To choose a new password, use Forgot your password?:
- If you're logged in, log out as described above.
- Open the login screen. Tap the person icon at the top right of a Connect page. On a computer, click sign in / create account.
- Tap Forgot your password? under the Log In button.
- Follow the steps in Reset Your Password When You Can't Log In.
That article also shows where to find your username if you've lost track of it.
Put Connect on your phone's home screen
You can add Connect to your phone's home screen. It then opens from an icon, like an app. It's the same Connect you see in your browser. It needs an internet connection, and it doesn't send notifications to your phone.
The Install App tile is in the phone menu. Hold your phone upright when you look for it. When the screen is wider, Connect shows the computer menu, which has no Install App tile.
On an iPhone
-
Open Connect in your phone's browser.
-
Tap the menu icon (three short lines) at the top left.
-
Tap Install App.
-
A box titled App installation instructions opens. It lists three steps.
- Tap Share. This button is in your phone's browser, not in the box.
- Select Add to Home Screen.
- Confirm by tapping Add.
-
Look for the new icon on your home screen.
On an Android phone
- Open Connect in your phone's browser.
- Tap the menu icon (three short lines) at the top left.
- Tap Install App.
- Your phone shows its own message about adding Connect. Follow it.
If you don't see this
On an iPhone, you may not see Install App if you opened Connect from its home screen icon, or if your phone is turned sideways. On Android, the tile shows only when your phone's browser offers to install Connect. If you still don't see it, ask your local group's secretary.
If you belong to more than one local group or organization
More than one local group in the same organization
You have one account for your whole organization. The groups you belong to or follow show in the menu under My Groups. Don't make a second account. If you try, Connect says "You already have an account."
More than one organization
Each organization has its own Connect and keeps its own membership record for you. You need a separate account for each one.
- Open the address of the other organization's Connect.
- Make your account there. The steps are in Create Your Groupable Account.
- Log in with the username and password you chose for that organization.
Your username can be the same as your first one unless someone in that organization already has it. Write each username and password down, or save them in a password manager, so you can tell them apart.
If you don't see this
If your second organization's Connect doesn't let you make an account, ask that organization's secretary.
Where to get help
- For questions about your membership, your status or your account, ask your local group's secretary. To send them a message from Connect, see Contact Your Lodge or Group.
- For questions about how Connect works, use the help button after you log in. See Open the Help Widget. It reaches Groupable, not your local group.
