Use this guide if you hold more than one role in M2, for example secretary of your local group and an officer at your district. A role is the set of things you can see and do for one office or assignment. Groupable creates your roles for you.
Before you start
Log in to M2. If you hold only one role, the menu lists only that one.
Switch to another role
- Click your name in the upper right corner of the screen. On a phone or a narrow window, your name isn't in the top bar. Tap the menu icon at the top left, scroll to the bottom of the menu, and tap your name there.
-
Look below Log Out for your roles. Your roles sit under headings that name a local group, district, region, or parent group. Your current role is in bold.
-
If Admin is in your list, don't pick it unless it's your only role. Admin adds powers to your other roles in the same parent group, so you already have them. Working in Admin hides many of the screens and tools your usual role gives you, so if Admin is your current role, pick your usual role instead.
- Click the role you want.
Groupable opens your Home page in that role. Most of what you can see and do now follows that role. Each role belongs to one parent group, so switching can also change which parent group you're working in.
Set your default role without switching
Use this to choose the role you start in when you log in.
- Open the Edit Account screen. Update Your Account Settings shows how.
- Choose a role from Default User Role. Each choice reads as the role, where it applies, and its group. Pick one that also appears in the menu under your name. If you pick one that isn't in that menu, Groupable may start you in a different role instead.
- Click Save.
The change starts the next time you log in. Your current role stays the same until then.
See all your roles
Click your name, click My Account, and look at the Permissions card. It lists each role with its Level, what it's For, and its Status.
If something goes wrong
- If a role you expect is missing, ask your secretary or your parent group to check that your office or assignment is recorded for you and is current. Groupable builds your roles from the offices you hold and the roles assigned to you, and it rebuilds the list each time you log in.
- If an office has ended, its role leaves your list the next time you log in. If it was your default role, Groupable picks another one for you.
- If you hold an administrative account, which isn't tied to a membership, an admin adds your roles instead.
- If you can't find the role list, check which Groupable app you're in. Roles appear in the menu only in M2 and Raiser. From any other Groupable app, open the same menu. If m2 is listed under My Apps, click it.
