When a member from outside your jurisdiction, usually your state, wants to join your local group, that is referred to as a 'foreign' affiliate.
Here are the instructions for those Dual Request/Approved members:

Please note the following steps:
A. If it's the Secretary creating a contact and requesting the Dual Affiliation (Petition Read in their lodge), then follow these instructions:
Secretary:
- Creates Contact
- Requests Dual Membership ON THEIR LOCAL LODGE and uploads documentation
Grand Lodge:
- reviews pending profile, edit/review/approve/deny
- approve dual CONTACT
- create the member timeline starting with foreign events (initiated, passed, raised) that make them a Master Mason
- then add your local lodge/local events (petitioned, elected)
That completes the Dual Request process.
B. When the individual has already been approved at the Grand Body, and has not yet been entered into the system, create a new member record as a contact in the foreign jurisdiction.
- create a new contact in the foreign jurisdiction lodge
- add their degrees in their foreign jurisdiction lodge
- add any other foreign lodge events that occurred in timeline order
- add their new affiliation to your local lodge
You're done!
