Before You Delete

Consider:

• Can you edit the comment instead?
• Have people already replied to it?
• Will deleting it confuse the conversation?
• Do you just need to clarify something?

When to edit instead of delete:

• Small typo or mistake
• Need to add information
• Want to rephrase something

Steps to Delete Your Comment

Step 1: Find Your Comment

Go to the post where you commented and locate your comment.

Step 2: Open the Comment Menu

On your comment, look for:

• Three dots (…)
• Trash can icon
• Down arrow menu
• “Delete” link

Click or hover to open the menu.

Step 3: Click “Delete” or “Delete Comment”

From the menu, select “Delete” or “Delete Comment”

A confirmation window may appear.

Step 4: Confirm Deletion

If asked to confirm:

1. Read the message: “Are you sure you want to delete this comment?”
2. Click “Delete,” “Yes,” or “Confirm”

To cancel:

• Click “Cancel” or “No”
• Comment will not be deleted

• Your comment disappears
• May see a brief success message
• Conversation thread adjusts

What’s Removed

• Your comment text
• Any photos/links in your comment
• Your name from the comment thread
• Likes on your comment

What Remains

• Author already received notification you commented
• That notification may still exist
