M2 uses small pictures, called icons, in place of words in many places. This guide lists the ones you'll see most.
Resting your pointer on an icon changes nothing. Many icons show a short label that names the job. Most trash cans ask you to confirm before anything is deleted.

Icons that call for a look
| What it looks like | What it means |
|---|---|
| An exclamation mark in a circle or triangle, amber or red | Something needs attention. Rest your pointer on it to see why, where a label is available. For example, a red triangle beside an officer's name means Officer Inactive. A red circle beside a lifetime member's dues category means Lifetime Member Owes Dues. In a members list, an amber circle beside a dues category means the category is unknown. |
| A green circle with a check | In the User column of a members list, the member has an account. In the Downloaded column of My Downloads, you've saved that file. |
