Your Connect Home Feed

My Feed is your personal page in Connect. It gathers recent news from all the locals (the individual units within your organization, such as lodges, chapters, or local committees) and groups you follow, along with a quick look at your dues, upcoming events, and memberships.

How to Get to My Feed

From the main menu on the left, click My Feed. If you are logged in as a member, this is also where Connect sends you after you log in.

My Feed is only available to members who are logged in. If you are not logged in, you will land on your local’s public home page instead.

What’s on My Feed?

Recent News

The main part of the page lists recent news posts from the locals and groups you follow, newest first. Each post shows:

The subject line
Who posted it and which group it’s from
How long ago it was posted
A short preview of the text, and any photos attached
How many comments it has, if comments are allowed on that post

Click Read More on any post to see the full post and its comments.

If you don’t follow any groups yet, or none of them have posted recently, you’ll see a message letting you know there’s no recent news.

Dues Owed

If you owe dues to one of your locals, a card shows the amount and a Make a Payment button, if your local accepts online payments.

Share Member Status

If your membership card number is available, a QR code appears here that you can use to quickly share your member status.

Upcoming Events

A list of the locals and groups that have upcoming events, so you can jump to their calendars.

My Local Memberships

A list of the locals where you hold an active membership, each linking to that local’s page.

My Groups

A list of every local or group you belong to or follow, each linking to that group’s page.

Commenting on a Post

To join the conversation on a post:

Click Read More on the post from My Feed, or open the post directly.
Type your comment in the box and click Post.
Your comment appears below the post.

You can reply to someone else’s comment by clicking Reply under their comment.

To edit or delete your own comment, click Edit or Delete next to it. You can only edit or delete comments you wrote yourself (your local’s webmaster can also remove comments).

Note: To comment, your account must be set to show your name in Connect. You can turn this on from the privacy settings on your My Profile page. See Understanding Privacy Settings.

Following a Group

The posts that appear on My Feed come from the locals and groups you follow. If you’d like to see news from a group you’re not already following, visit that group’s page and look for a follow option.

Managing Group Email and Mail Preferences

From your My Profile page, you can choose whether to follow each local or group, and whether that local can reach you by email or postal mail. See Managing Contact Preferences.

Troubleshooting

Feed Won’t Update

Problem: You don’t see new posts you know should be there.

Solutions:

Refresh your browser.
Make sure you are still logged in.
Check that you are following the group that posted — posts only appear for groups you follow.

Can’t See a Specific Post

Problem: Someone mentions a post you can’t see.

Possible reasons:

The post is older than a year, so it no longer shows in your feed.
You are not following the group that posted it.
The post’s privacy setting does not allow you to see it.

Solutions:

Follow the group the post came from.
Contact your local’s secretary or webmaster if you think you should have access.

Can’t Comment on a Post

Problem: You don’t see a way to add a comment.

Possible reasons:

Comments are turned off for that post.
Your privacy settings do not show your name in Connect. Comments require your name to be visible so other members know who is speaking.

Solutions:

Turn on Show my name in Connect from your My Profile privacy settings, then try again.

Local – An individual unit within your organization where members hold their primary membership. Depending on your organization, this might correspond to a lodge, chapter, local committee, or similar body.

Group – The parent organization that oversees all locals, districts, and regions. Examples include a state-level governing body, a national association, or a political party.

Member – A person who holds membership in your group.
