How to Edit Your Profile Information
Your Connect profile shows other members who you are. This guide shows you how to update your photos, bio data, and contact information.
What You Can Edit
From your Connect profile, you can edit:
- Your photos
- Your bio data (name, birth information, gender, occupation, spouse information)
- Your contact information (addresses, phone numbers, email addresses)
- Your privacy settings
What You Cannot Edit
Some information comes from your official member record and cannot be changed in Connect:
- Member number
- Years in Good Standing
- Local affiliation
To update official information: Contact your local secretary or parent group.
Steps to Edit Your Profile
Step 1: Log In to Connect
Go to your organization’s Connect page and log in.
Step 2: Go to Your Profile
Open the menu and click My Profile.
Step 3: Choose What to Edit
Each section of your profile has its own edit control:
- Photos – click a photo to open the photo manager
- Bio Data – click the pencil icon in the card header
- Contact Info – click the menu icon to add a new entry, or the pencil icon next to an existing entry to edit it
- groupable|connect Privacy Settings – toggle the switches directly; changes save automatically
Managing Your Photos
Add a Photo
- Click your current photo (or the default silhouette) to open the photo manager.
- Click the plus (+) icon.
- Drag and drop a photo onto the upload area, or click Browse to choose a file. You can select more than one photo at once.
- Click Upload.
Set Your Default Photo
If you have more than one photo, the one marked Current Default is what other members see. To change it:
- Open the photo manager.
- Find the photo you want to use.
- Click Set Default.
Remove a Photo
- Open the photo manager.
- Find the photo you want to remove.
- Click Delete, then confirm.
If you delete your current default photo, Connect automatically picks another one of your photos as the new default (or shows the default silhouette if you have none left).
Editing Your Bio Data
- In the Bio Data section, click the pencil icon.
- Update any of these fields: prefix, first/middle/last name, suffix, preferred name, birth date, birth city, birth country, gender, occupation, or spouse information.
- Click Save.
If something in your Bio Data section looks wrong and you can’t fix it in this form (for example, your member number or local affiliation), contact your local secretary or parent group.
Editing Your Contact Information
- In the Contact Info section, click the menu icon (top corner of the card) to see what you’re allowed to add, such as a home address, cell phone, land line, other phone, or email address. The options available depend on what contact methods you already have on file.
- To change an existing entry, click the pencil icon next to it and update the details.
- To remove an entry you added yourself (not your primary residential contact information), click the red minus-circle icon next to it and confirm.
Note: Your primary (residential) address, phone, and email can be edited but not removed from this screen. If one of these needs to be deleted, contact your organization secretary.
Updating Your Privacy Settings
In the groupable|connect Privacy Settings section, use the switches to control what other members and the public can see:
| In Connect | Publicly | |
|---|---|---|
| Show My Photo | Visible to logged-in members | Visible to the public |
| Show My Name | Visible to logged-in members (required to comment) | Visible to the public |
| Show My Phone | Visible to logged-in members | Visible to the public |
| Show My Email | Visible to logged-in members | Visible to the public |
Changes save automatically as you toggle each switch. See Privacy Settings Guide for more detail.
